Easily the BEST tonkatsu dish I've ever had at this price point. There is always a bit of a queue but it's worth the wait. If you go here, you have to order the Special cut (it is way more succulent and tender for only an extra 300 yen). Would definitely visit again next time I'm in Tokyo.
MoreAmazing Tonkatsu. Can't share but I'm glad I didn't!
Pork cutlet specialty! Very reasonable price and portion. Menu is pretty clear-cut. Expect long queue during lunch and dinner hour as the restaurant can only accommodate limited number of customers. Same goes to another branch near Ueno Ameyoko.
MoreThe best tonkatsu I've had in my life. It's quite cheap too. There might be a little wait but I came around 7 PM and sat immediately. There is an English menu available. Don't forget to pour some sauce from the jar next to you! Also be careful, their mustard is extremely strong... 😅 At then end you can pay in cash over the counter.
MoreSoooo good
For 750 you get a massive pork cutlet, a ton of cabbage, a huge bowl of fluffy rice, green tea, and a delicious miso soup. It’s really an incredible deal. And for that price it has no right to taste this good!
MoreGreat C/P
We ordered two different sets, fried shrimp and fried fish, both of sets are yummy in week days. Almost all customers were male which suggested the size of meal set is too large for women.
MoreI strongly recommend this Japanese pork cutlet restaurant. Teste is nice and price is reasonable. I hope many foreign guests try this one of popular Japanese dish.
MoreThe best tonkatsu you can get in Japan!
Best tonkatsu restaurant ever
It was really nice to have a meal at restaurant where be loved by a lot of local people there.I would visit this restaurant again.
MoreQuality Japanese style Pork Cutlet for realy cheap price. Price varies from 770 to 1250 yen. Taste great as well.
MoreFirst time trying this and i really loved it!
Very delicious and cheap
Great food and great value. Meals come as a set with rice and miso.
Extremely juicy, adorable. You'll probably have to wait to get seated.
Super hospitality! Offer Chinese/English menu. Not the best pork cutlet in Japan, but still good and cheap. Mine dish cost ¥950. So in love with the pleasant atmosphere & clerks.
MoreGood tonkatsu at decent price that come in sets (with rice and miso soup). I feel like I need to mention their miso soup. The best one I had so far in Japan 😍
MoreTaste was good, but waiting is more then half hours I'm choose other restaurant
A very good tonkatsu. I think this restaurant has its own philosophy. Their soup has no special taste, but I think it's because they wanted us to focus on the taste of the tonkatsu.. and... First of all, there are many japanese salary men, so a wait line is there. Of course, some tourists too. I ate hirekatsu, and my friend ate more famous one(I forgot the name) but anyway, hirekatsu is less oily(?), so I chose it. Compared to other tonkatsu, here is quite good. I recommend tourists to taste tonkatsu here. I don't say here is the best, but a good restaurant.
MoreRecommend. It’s very delicious and also cheap.
I’ve been to this Tonkatsu spot twice now in two separate trips to Tokyo and I can honestly say, is amazing. Early warning, you WILL have to queue. Be prepared to queue for up to 40-50 minutes at peak times. But stick with it, it’s worth the wait. Staff are extremely helpful and caring. There are multi-language menus for non-Japanese visitors, so don’t worry; the menu is often automatically brought to you when you’re sat inside. The food is amazingly priced and you get a lot for your money. The sizes are great and it’s all cooked in front of you. If you want great, authentic Tonkatsu, please go here.
MoreThe pork cutlet is tasty and the price is reasonable ! Portion is large so becareful , and Chinese/English menu available as well .
MoreWe ate here twice!!! Great value!!!Great food (very tasty), great services.A bit tips to avoid a long queue.Be there before 11pm. The pork cutlet was ¥750, and it was huge and tasty!Very highly recommended!
MoreBest place close to Akihabara. The food is delicious and not expensive. Such an experience because is a small and crowded place attended by very amiable people. Try the pork loin cutlet :)
MoreFood is outstanding with price fairly low.
YOU MUST TRY THIS when you go to 上野, it's the best fired pork I've ever eaten. The fry skin of the pork is so smooth that you can't even notice that it's actually fired. The pork itself is so fresh. Furthermore, the price is reasonable and affordable.
MoreSo delicious and luscious. Worthy to wait (definitely need to wait! )
Maybe one of the best CP (cost performance) tonkatsu in Tokyo.
The meat was so firm and sauce also went well with it. Old style japanese shop in which you face the shop workers so near. Good experience and worth coming again!
MoreAwesome tonkatsu, communication is a challenge as everything is in Japanese but if you just ask for the chefs recommendation then they will sort you out, incredible cheap and value for money
MoreCheap and super tasty Katsu!
So good, def worth the wait
Love this place. I've tried #2 and #5. So gooood.
I used to patron here 5 time in a week during the last visit in 2017. It was very delicious and juicy. Came back this year Jan 2020 . To my dismay this time the Tontkatsu is a little Oily and it is less juicy.. To the first Timer it is still the delicious Tontkatsu
MoreGreat food,great service!
The pork loin cutlet very crispy. We added the prawns and mackerel, so crispy and fresh!
MoreTonkatsu was excellent! Services was super efficient. English menu, but no English speaking staff. This location only has counter seating. There was a line, but is was super fast. Photo is the regular sized hire Katsu meal.
MoreSo yummy! 1st meal in Japan and it didn't disappoint!!! Great service
A great tonkatsu restaurant, with a very no nonsense staff. Pay attention when you walk in, as they are very particular about the waiting area (it's nice they have a seating area to wait!) I had the pork katsu and one shrimp katsu and both were great! The portion sizes are quite filling and the katsu sauce is perfect. I do wish they had sesame dressing for the cabbage like other katsu places. Would definitely recommend if you're staying in the area.
MoreThis place is a cosy restaurant that has a queue! Superior pork loin tonkatsu at 1200yen net price? Never seen such a deal before! The pork is super yummy, accompanied with the sauce, pickles, cabbage and asari miso soup, everything balances out the flavor of this meal. The remaining items cost between 740 yen and 950 yen. Fish katsu and prawns can be added on top of your order. They have counter seats for diners to enjoy their meals. Taking picture of the kitchen is forbidden. Queue timing varies from 30mins onwards during lunch time
MoreIncredible tonkatsu, possibly the best I've had, for truly amazing price.Took the big pork fillet for ¥1250 which is tons of delicious food.Make sure to use the thick sauce in the big jar for the cutlet and cabbage. There's usually a queue but it's running quickly and worth the wait. English menu available. Enjoy!
MoreExtremely delicious, also cheep, but VERY crowded during lunch time.
Food, service, and good were good and I have no complained. However, the line is quite long and if we're just talking about flavor is not game changing. Recommended if there is no long line.
MoreBest fried pork ever. So juicy and tender
Delicious and authentic food! Came twice in three days.
A true Japanese experience! Small place with no tables, just the counter. I was the only western and it was full. They just serve pan fried pork. No drinks at all. But it is delicious and reasonably priced.
MoreWell worth even a longer metro ride. English menu, efficient language independent service.Katsu is extremely good and really affordable.
MoreAmazing tonkatsu is served here. The price is quite cheap considering the portion that is given. The juicy meat, crisp layer of flour. In summary, it’s impeccable.
